But I have also been a soldier, having spent almost a year in Iraq with the U.S. Army. Now that I’m home, I like to spend free time with my husband. He works in law enforcement, too, so our schedules sometimes conflict, but we like to meet to play pool or racquetball.

I started at LAXPD in November 2005, but I had worked at the airport in another capacity since 1997. I had always wanted to have something to do with law enforcement, but at the same time I had a passion for airplanes. This job brings together the two things I love the most.

It’s my job to enforce traffic and vehicle violations, respond to calls, and provide customer service to travelers. The great thing about working for the LAXPD is that I get to meet all kinds of people from all over the world.

When you work at the airport, it’s a different day every day. It’s like we have our own city with our own laws. And it’s a unique multicultural experience. So many languages are spoken.

Working at the airport is fun. It’s exciting. I love getting up in the morning, putting on my uniform, and going to work.
