I joined the LAXPD three years ago and now work as a training officer. I’m responsible for training new cadets as well as in-service personnel in the areas of less-lethal weapons and defensive tactics measures. I enjoy working at LAXPD because of the variety of assignments offered. You get to do a lot of different things.

Working at the airport is a lot of fun. You get to see the airplanes take off and land. You get to go out and be around all these people coming and going, meeting their friends and family.

The thing that sets this job apart is that police officers are held to a higher standard than the general public. You can’t be caught breaking the laws you’re meant to enforce. You always have to be responsible.
