Two and a half years into the job, Officer Shelton is part of the elite Emergency Services Unit (known as the SWAT team). This group stands ready to deploy tactical response to terrorist situations at LAX. Each day they work out and train in order to be prepared when an attack happens.
Officer Shelton says that what he likes best about his job is “the day-to-day realization that I get paid to do it.” He says he enjoys all the training he does and feels it’s important: “In police work, all skills are perishable. Nothing is like riding a bike.”
